The film has been given 22 cuts, some of them are unprintable. All the cuts have been given by Balaji only. A cleaner version of the film was submitted to the Tribunal only about three weeks ago.

A source says, "After the Censor Board's Examining Committee rejected Great Grand Masti, Ekta chose not to approach the Revising Committee which is otherwise the next logical step. She headed straight to her editing table to chop off some of the objectionable stuff and then knocked on the doors of the Tribunal, who has cleared the film for release."

The Tribunal has passed Great Grand Masti saying that Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 and Mastizaade were far more vulgar in comparison.

This is the fourth case in recent times when a filmmaker has knocked the doors of the Tribunal and got away with it- Jannat 2, Gangaajal 2, Mastizaade and Love Games.

Gangaajal 2 was cleared by the Tribunal with 2 minor cuts, Love Games went almost unscathed and Mastizaade had just a few cuts. All said and done, these films would have otherwise had several cuts. Likewise, 22 is a small number if Great Grand Masti had to undergo the cuts at the hands of the Censor Board.

Great Grand Masti also referred to as Masti 3, stars Vivek Oberoi, Ritesh Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, Urvashi Rautela and Pooja Bose in main roles.
